Health & Counseling Center Staff

The Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) is professionally staffed by providers at the doctoral, master’s and supervisory levels.


Deb Musser, PsyD, LMHC

Director of Student Health and Counseling

Deb Musser holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a Certificate in Group Work from Adler University; a master’s in counseling from Grace College; and is licensed in the state of Indiana as a mental health counselor (LMHC). This marks Deb’s 22nd year at Grace College; 14 of those years include Deb’s work in Student Affairs with groups and individuals in a college setting. Deb has experience with a wide variety of populations and settings, including but not limited to children in an elementary school setting, college students, adolescents in a juvenile detention center, grief groups and community mental health. She has assessment experience working with and evaluating adolescents as well as completing parenting evaluations. Deb has had particular experience in the areas of anxiety, depression, transitions/life changes, trauma, anger management, parenting and groups.

Tracy Morris, MA, LMHC

Clinical Coordinator and Staff Counselor

Tracy is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Taylor University and Master's degree in Counseling at Grace College. She has been practicing in the field of mental health since 2007, specifically in counseling since 2010. During these years, she worked closely with the Department of Child Services and the State of Indiana to provide support for children, adults, and families. She also provided individual and couples counseling at a private practice and obtained a state certification in providing treatment for sexually maladaptive behaviors. Tracy has also spent the past three years providing supervision to both masters-level clinicians and interns. She has had particular experience in the areas of anxiety, trauma, transitions/life changes, spiritual issues, addictions, and groups. Tracy has taught several courses in higher education in the discipline of counseling/psychology.

Laura Green, BSN, RN

Campus Nurse

Laura is a licensed registered nurse in the state of Indiana. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She has been practicing nursing since 2003. During this time she has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospital care, outpatient surgery, and most recently urgent care. Laura is employed by Medstat Urgent Care in partnership with Kosciusko Community Hospital and Lutheran Health Network.

Caryn Howell

Administrative Assistant

Caryn joined Grace College and the SHCC team in 2016. She has had experience in healthcare, educational and residential settings, along with database management, recruiting and coaching. Stephanie Hammer, MA, LMHC

Staff Counselor

Stephanie is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Indiana as of 2010. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in counseling at Grace College. She has worked in the field since 1992 in various capacities, ranging from positions in a girls’ group home to therapeutic support staff with families in crisis to developing an in-home parenting education program to counseling in a community mental health agency. In addition to working at a private practice, she joins the counseling center two days a week. She has an interest in the areas of spiritual issues, family issues, depression, grief, anxiety, self-esteem/identity issues and trauma.

Jimmy Elsner

Counseling Intern

Jimmy is a third year graduate student in Grace College's MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. He plans to graduate in the spring of 2017 and keep on learning. Jimmy has previously worked at Grace's counseling center with experience related to adjustment, depression and relationship issues. He is passionate about working with issues relating to identity, gender, sexuality, relationship and family struggles. Outside the office, Jimmy enjoys hanging out with his wife, playing Spikeball, spending time in solitude, and watching a good Pixar movie.

Carolyn Glock

Counseling Intern

Carolyn graduated from Grace College with a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and Bible and is currently pursuing her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grace. She plans to obtain licensure as a counselor after graduation in May 2017. Carolyn has counseled women at a transitional living facility who are in recovery from chemical dependency, as well as providing rehabilitation services to all ages at a community mental health center. Her passion is to see people live more holistically by bringing their thoughts, emotions, goals, spirituality, etc. into congruency. She has counseled people experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, and low self-esteem, yet loves seeing all people no matter the circumstance reach wellness and wholeness.

Nicholas (Niko) Read

Counseling Intern

Niko is a second year graduate student in Grace College's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. He plans to work to obtain licensure as a counselor upon graduation in 2017. Niko graduated from Grace College with Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice in 2015. He has worked in the counseling field in a public school setting and has worked with young men and women in residential settings. Niko has had training and experience in working with depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, bipolar and other mental health concerns. He is particularly interested in marriage and family therapy as well as working with athletes.
