Throughout Grace’s history, the mission of the college has remained faithful to the Word of God. As president of Grace College & Seminary, I am preceded by some outstanding leaders. I am especially thankful for Dr. Manahan’s consistent focus on the mission of Grace College & Seminary during his years as president. He has paved the way for an ongoing tradition of excellence that I am eager to continue. We have made significant changes over the past few years, and our institution has thrived under Dr. Manahan’s direction.
I have had the privilege of working in higher education administration for five colleges and seminaries over the past 39 years (15 at Grace College & Seminary). I am thrilled that at Grace we have a board, faculty and staff who love the Lord, and who desire to advance the college and seminary.
As I prayerfully step into my new role, I intend to keep moving the institution forward with the help of the Lord. However, my plans for the initial months also include taking time to listen—to students, faculty, staff and friends in our community, and to our alumni, pastors and friends in the FGBC. I plan to draw from the wisdom of many as we continue to innovate.
Most importantly, I commit to listen to the Lord. The Lord speaks through the psalmist in Psalm 46:10, where He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” I am committed to spending a significant amount of time on my knees in prayer as we begin this new journey.
