SWIFT, an acronym for Seminary Wives in Fellowship and Training, exists primarily to assist seminary wives while they are in a unique chapter of life called “seminary.” Finding support and encouragement from others who are in transition is a vital role that SWIFT plays. While in seminary, a wife will have new experiences that can be exciting, scary, adventurous and confusing. SWIFT is a fellowship of like-minded women who are on a similar journey, and who can provide prayer support, wisdom and care as one navigates the unknowns of life in ministry and seminary.
SWIFT provides two opportunities a month to connect with others in the Seminary. One of the opportunities is a “girl’s night out,” where wives share and pray together. The second opportunity is a fellowship night, where all seminary students and their wives are invited to enjoy time together over a meal and make memories through engaging in an activity together. Both of these monthly events provide free childcare.
We desire to be a spiritually supportive community, pointing each other to Christ and learning how to do life together as a body of believers. We know that seminary can be a rich time of growth and challenge that will forever shape the lives of those who engage not only the content but the community of seminary life.
