Coming to college for the first time is a big transition. Living on your own in a dorm room without anything (or anyone!) familiar to you can be intimidating. However, at Grace we desire to make your residence life experience enjoyable--and this starts with helping you decide what to bring to college. We have provided a list of room accessories and necessities for life in the residence halls.
The school provides for each student a bed, dresser, desk, chair, and curtains or mini-blinds. The resident is responsible for any other room accessories he or she may wish to have.
For significant health and safety reasons, students are prohibited from bringing used, or second-hand, upholstered furniture into Grace College Residence Halls. This would include used or second hand chairs, sofas, Futons, Bean-bags, or other furniture containing cushions, stuffing, or upholstery. Cushions or pillows small enough to fit into a campus dryer are allowed. Students must be prepared to show copies of purchase receipts upon request. Students are strongly advised to buy and bring a minimal amount of furniture to campus.
