About

Diversity and Inclusion

We love diversity because the God of the universe loves diversity.

At Grace College, we follow the way of Christ in all things. Jesus’ life demonstrates a radical way of welcoming, accepting, and loving everyone he came into contact with. And many times in Scripture, he actually goes out of his way to meet with those of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences. As disciples of Jesus, it is our goal that His love for diversity becomes our love for diversity.

Grace College, Diversity and Inclusion. We love diversity because the God of the universe loves diversity.

Practically speaking, we strive to reflect this in three areas:

Theologically

We want to reflect heaven on earth.

Rev. 7:9 “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…”

We want to obey the call of Jesus.

Matt. 22:37-39 “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Academically

We value multifaceted, diverse learning experiences.

There is no question about it — our scholarship is enriched when we consider other opinions, when we welcome new perspectives, and when we understand experiences that differ from our own. When you learn alongside someone who is different than you are, you will learn exponentially more than you ever could alone.

Personally

We encourage students to form genuine, diverse friendships while on campus.

Grace College is comprised of 1,200+ individuals with unique backgrounds, ethnicities, experiences, and yet, we are one. We celebrate our differences. We lean into conversation. And we magnify the voices of others. One way we facilitate this is through our Council for Diversity and Inclusion, a student-led organization which exists to represent minorities on campus through celebration, connection, and education.
