Associate Degrees

Associate Degree in High School

Earn your associate degree in Liberal Arts while in high school and save thousands of dollars in college costs! The College Launch program is for high school students and gives you a money-saving head start.

  • Fill out the College Launch application online.
  • Have your guidance counselor complete the reference form.
  • Have your guidance counselor send us your high school transcripts.

This program is great for homeschooled students! To earn your associate degree while you’re being homeschooled, simply:

  • Fill out the College Launch application during your Sophomore year or while you have two more years left in high school. (Juniors – You’re welcome to apply for one year of College Launch!)
  • Have a parent or guardian complete the reference form.
  • Have a parent or guardian email admissions@grace.edu your transcript.

Associate of Liberal Arts

In order to be considered for enrollment in the Associate Degree in Liberal Arts program at Grace, you must fulfill certain admission requirements. Below is a list of the requirements for the program.

  • College transcript, or
  • High school transcript (or GED), if no college credit
  • 2.0 GPA is required for college or high school
  • Complete the application process

We recommend that you apply for admission at least one month before the next entry term. Students applying after the deadline are considered on a space available basis. It is best to apply early!

Master's Degrees

Master of Athletic Administration

In order to be considered for enrollment in one of the graduate programs at Grace, you must fulfill certain admissions requirements. Below is a list of the requirements for the Master of Science in Athletic Administration program.

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Undergraduate GPA: minimum 2.75
  • Complete the application process
  • Be a member of the NIAAA or the CIAAA

Master of Nonprofit Management

The Grace College Master of Science in Nonprofit Management will give you the ability to take your newly acquired knowledge and skills, combined with your compassion for something greater than yourself, to effectively manage your nonprofit organization.

Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

In order to be considered for enrollment in one of the graduate programs at Grace, you must fulfill certain admission requirements. Below is a list of the requirements for the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
  • Undergraduate 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Complete the application process
  • Professional reference
  • Interview with faculty member
  • Pass a background check

We recommend that you complete the admissions process at least one month before the next entry term. Students completing the process after the deadline are considered on a space available basis. It is best to start early!

Fill out a Professional Reference Request form. This reference cannot be a relative and should be completed by a recent (within the last three years) employer, instructor, or supervisor of one year or longer. A PDF version of the Professional Reference From is also available here.

Step 4: Background Check

Our office will take care of requesting a criminal background check.

Due to the process of securing a practicum/internship and licensure, it is highly unlikely that applicants who have a history of physical violence, sexual misconduct, and/or multiple criminal charges will be admitted to the CMHC program. In addition, applicants who have served a prison sentence will not be considered for enrollment in the CMHC program.

Admission’s Requirements for Special Circumstances

 

  • written statement addressing how the applicant will overcome their special circumstances to achieve success as a graduate student and counselor-in-training.
  • An additional reference that provides insight into or addresses the applicant’s special circumstances.
  • Additional documentation or verification of student’s special circumstances.
  • An additional interview with a faculty member to address the applicant’s special circumstances

 

Admission Requirements for Unclassified Students

Applicants who are not seeking a degree but require additional or specific coursework to satisfy educational requirements related to state licensure may apply to the online Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program as an Unclassified Student under the following conditions:

 

  • Unclassified students are eligible to take up to nine credits in the CMHC program.
  • Unclassified students are not eligible to take clinical courses in the CMHC program, including Counseling Skills, Group Counseling, Practicum, Internship, or Advanced Internship.
  • Unclassified students must submit a complete application for admission into the online CMHC program as per the graduate application process.
  • Unclassified students may be asked to provide “documentation of need” for the specific course(s) offered within the online CMHC program.  Documentation of need may include, but is not limited to, correspondence from a state licensing board indicating the courses needed for licensure (to compare with student’s transcript) and/or information from the student’s previous school showing they do not have access to certain courses through that institution.
  •  In all cases, unclassified student admission decisions will be based on the current enrollment numbers within the online CMHC program.  Registration priority will be given to full-time online CMHC students.

Licensure Programs

Elementary Education License: Transition to Teaching Program

To be eligible to participate in a Transition to Teaching program in elementary education within the state of Indiana, applicants must meet one of the three conditions:

  • Bachelor’s degree with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale from an accredited postsecondary educational institution
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution with a GPA of at least 2.5 AND provide evidence of 5 years RELEVANT professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND pass the following Indiana state required content exams: (Elementary Generalist STEM subtest 5008 and Elementary Generalist Humanities subtest 5007).

If you are eligible under condition #1 (you have a bachelor’s degree and your GPA is 3.0 or higher), submit your transcripts to Grace College.

If you are eligible under condition #2 (you have a bachelor’s degree and your GPA is between 2.5 to 2.9 on a 4.0 scale, AND you have worked in a related field/education for at least five years, submit your transcripts to Grace College and a letter of reference from your employer providing the following details (your role, number of years you were in that role, how it is relevant to teaching).

If you do not have/did not have a supervisor to provide a reference for this experience (i.e., self-employed, unattainable contact information) submit a letter/email from yourself along with employment evidence to Grace College admissions. In the letter/email provide the following information: 1) your name and contact information along with your professional experience (where you worked- name of the employer, address, any contact information), 2) years you worked at this location/employer, 3) your role (what you did relevant to teaching), 4) evidence of your employment or self-employment in this role (i.e., tax documents, pay receipts/stubs, etc.). The Director of Alternative Programming & Partnerships at Grace College will evaluate your professional experience as it relates to the elementary education licensure requirements in consideration of your eligibility. You will be contacted for further information and if additional verification is required.

If you are eligible under condition #3 (you have a bachelor’s degree) then you will need to complete and pass the following assessment Elementary Education Assessment 5006 with two content area sub-assessments:  (Elementary Generalist STEM subtest 5008 [passing score is 158] and Elementary Generalist Humanities subtest 5007 [passing score is 160]).

Secondary Education License: Transition to Teaching Program

To be eligible to participate in a Transition to Teaching program in secondary education within the state of Indiana, applicants must meet one of the four conditions:

    • Bachelor’s degree in subject area or related field in which the candidate wants to teach and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher from accredited institution
    • Bachelor’s degree in subject area or related field in which the candidate wants to teach with 2.5-2.9 GPA from accredited institution AND 5 years of relevant professional experience
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND pass the state approved secondary content area assessment in the subject area the candidate wants to teach
    • Graduate degree in subject area or related field in which the candidate wants to teach

If you are eligible under condition #1 (you have a bachelor’s degree in the subject area or related field in which you intend to teach, and your GPA is 3.0 or higher), submit your transcripts to Grace College.

If you are eligible under condition #2 (you have a bachelor’s degree and your GPA is between 2.5 to 2.9 on a 4.0 scale, AND you have worked in a related field or education for at least five years) submit your transcripts to Grace College and a letter of reference from your employer providing the following details (your role, number of years you were in that role, how it is relevant to teaching).

If you do not have/did not have a supervisor to provide a reference for this experience (i.e., self-employed, unattainable contact information) submit a letter/email from yourself along with employment evidence to Grace College admissions.
