Growth Groups

Growth Groups at Grace College

“Growth Groups” is a program of Residence Life which exists to foster an environment in and around the residence halls that is conducive to learning, growing, and serving in order to build authentic Christian community. In this community, every student can fully live, learn, and serve in healthy spaces characterized by authentic relationships, deepening spirituality, and both intentional action and reflection.

Each traditional residence hall has a staff of upperclassmen Growth Group Leaders (GGLs) who facilitate and lead weekly group meetings. Additionally, commuter students are provided connection with a Growth Group through the Commuter Liaisons. First year students are required to attend Growth Groups, although all students are encouraged and welcome to participate.

A typical Growth Group meeting includes relationship building, Bible study centered around the campus theme for the year, faith integration, and a variety of special events. Participation in Growth Groups allows students to find belonging among those on their hall while they learn more about loving God, loving one another, and integrating their faith with relevant cultural conversations.

Students can expect to hear about a variety of topics throughout the year selected by their Resident Assistant (RA) and GGL.

Special Events

A few times throughout the year, special events will be offered in conjunction with Growth Groups. Students can expect to attend these events with their Growth Group to foster community and fun.
