What to Bring to College

What to Bring to College: Residence Hall Students

Coming to college for the first time is a big transition. Living on your own in a dorm room without anything or anyone familiar to you can be intimidating. At Grace, we desire to make your residence life experience enjoyable—and this starts with helping you decide on your college packing list. Here we have listed the room accessories and necessities for life in the residence halls.

Knowing what to bring to college can seem daunting - check out the Grace College packing list and learn more about a path to Grace.

The school provides a bed, dresser, desk, chair, and curtains or mini-blinds for each student. The resident is responsible for any other room accessories he or she may wish to have.

For significant health and safety reasons, students are prohibited from bringing used, or second-hand, upholstered furniture into Grace College Residence Halls. This would include used or second hand chairs, sofas, futons, bean-bags, other furniture containing cushions, stuffing, or upholstery. Cushions or pillows small enough to fit into a campus dryer are allowed. Students must be prepared to show copies of purchase receipts upon request. Students are strongly advised to buy and bring a minimal amount of furniture to campus.
