As a marketing major at Grace, you’ll be equipped for the four main sectors of traditional and digital marketing: product development, pricing, distribution, and promotion. You’ll learn to apply your education to make wise, effective business decisions.
At Grace College, we believe that the purpose of business is to serve God through serving others. You’ll learn to market with respect and integrity, not manipulation and deception. Know that while you’ll be prepared to navigate the business world as it is, our highest priority is to train principled professionals with hearts centered on God.
Marketing is a quickly evolving field, and that’s why our faculty consistently updates course content with the latest research and trends. You can expect dynamic, hands-on classes full of real-world examples and applications in our program.
You’ll complete both core business classes and marketing major-specific courses throughout the degree. Your core courses will provide a foundation in business principles, such as management, economics, finance, and international business. Your concentration will determine your marketing courses.
The marketing specialization concentration gives you the freedom to choose the classes that best fit your gifts and interests, whether that’s advertising, sales management, or nonprofit marketing.
There’s no education like hands-on learning, so you’ll also complete an internship experience. Local businesses in a variety of industries, such as food, retail, and entertainment, regularly request Grace interns. You may even work in our own award-winning marketing department!
When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to use your education in any business environment, whether that’s product development, pricing, distribution, or promotion.
When you graduate with a marketing degree, you’ll be prepared to use your education in any marketing sector. Graduates have gone on to work in areas such as sales, management, SEO, public relations, copywriting, social media, inbound marketing, and a variety of other positions that require a thorough understanding of marketing.
Marketing students at Grace will take courses including Marketing Principles, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, and Foundations of Business, along with classes covering digital marketing, advertising and promotion, and other topics. With a general marketing concentration, you can take courses in all the concentrations to experience several types of marketing.
The short answer is: yes! In marketing research, data analytics, and other marketing courses, you will learn to interpret data, conduct research, and apply insights to real-world marketing decisions. These courses also emphasize the effective and ethical use of AI, helping you learn how to leverage AI tools to enhance analysis, improve efficiency, and support decision-making, while maintaining academic integrity and professional responsibility. Grace will help you harness AI as a resource, while still helping you think critically and create your own ideas.
Creating an impressive portfolio to hand off to future employers is critical for our students. Marketing students at Grace College graduate with a professional portfolio that showcases their skills and real-world experience. Through experiential learning projects with actual businesses and required internships, students apply classroom concepts to solve marketing challenges, develop strategic campaigns, analyze data, create digital content, and present solutions to clients. By graduation, they have a portfolio of meaningful work that demonstrates their abilities and prepares them to make an immediate impact in their marketing careers.
Every marketing student completes at least one business practicum or internship before graduation, gaining valuable hands-on experience and professional networking opportunities while preparing for marketing careers. Grace students have interned with companies such as Sweetwater, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Depuy Synthes, 1Eighty Digital, and many others. You may even work in Grace’s own award-winning marketing department!
Studying marketing at a Christian college prepares students to use their knowledge and skills to serve others, solve real-world problems, and make a meaningful impact in the marketplace. Marketing is more than selling products; it’s about understanding people’s needs, creating value, and building lasting relationships. At Grace, students learn that marketing can be a calling, not just a career. Through a biblical worldview, students discover how principles such as integrity, stewardship, and truth shape ethical decision-making, customer relationships, and business practices, preparing them to lead with excellence across industries.
Today’s marketers face complex challenges, including data privacy, artificial intelligence, misinformation, and declining consumer trust. Ethical marketing is grounded in biblical principles such as integrity, honesty, truth, and stewardship, equipping students to make wise, ethical decisions that honor God, building trust with consumers, and creating long-term value throughout their marketing careers.
Grace College requires students to earn 120 credits to graduate, including general marketing majors.
